However, one heavily rumored game kicked off the show, setting the tone for the rest of the event.Īfter months of rumors and potential leaks, the first trailer to be shown at Sony's 2021 event was for the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. As expected, the showcase offered up plenty of new reveals and announcements including Project EVE, Forspoken, as well as a new Wolverine game coming from Insomniac. Naturally, fan speculation ran wild as to what could be showcased with many agreeing that God of War would be the likeliest of games.
After skipping major summer gaming conventions like E3 again in 2021, Sony opted to hold it's own showcase event.
